Forum on SLNAC Expedited Arbitration Rules and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules

The SLNAC’s Forum on SLNAC Expedited Arbitration Rules and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules for corporate clients was held on the 6th of July 2026 at Jetwing Colombo 7.

The Chairman of SLNAC, Mr. Hiran de Alwis, highlighted the adoption of the SLNAC Expedited Arbitration Rules as a time- and cost-effective mechanism to resolve commercial disputes expeditiously. Furthermore, he stated that enforcement should be expedited.

The Chief Executive of SLNAC, Mrs. Karnika Jayatilake, delivered the welcome speech, where she emphasised the importance of incorporating properly drafted, appropriate dispute resolution clauses into commercial contracts.

The Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Shanalie Suraweera, concluded the forum by delivering the vote of thanks.
