The Sri Lanka National Arbitration Centre is well served by a panel of distinguished members belonging to the legal fraternity of this country. From its inception, eminent lawyer, Mr. Edgar Cooray was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer/Legal Advisor to the Centre and currently functions in the capacity of one of the members on the Board.
Presently Mr. Hiran de Alwis who assumed the duties in an honorary capacity Chief Executive Officer/Chief Legal Advisor to the Centre. Mr.Hiran de Alwis is a Law Graduate and a Legal Counsel learned counsel and possesses a Post Graduate Diploma in Law (Merit) (International Dispute Resolution) from the University of London. Further he is a Chartered Arbitrator and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London).
The Chairman of the Sri Lanka National Arbitration Centre is Mr. Romesh De Silva, Presidents Counsel who is arguably one of the finest civil and commercial practitioners in the country with a wealth of experience at his disposal. Mr, De Silva has appeared as counsel in a number of arbitral matters both locally and internationally and has also served as President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.
